Fuel Poverty Awareness Day falls on Friday 29th of November and YES Energy Solutions are supporting the day.
Fuel poverty is caused by low incomes, high energy prices
and energy inefficient housing which results in people unable to pay their fuel
bills.
It is estimated that fuel poverty affects 3.5 million UK households which is roughly 12.9% of all households.
Our company mission revolves around alleviating fuel poverty
across the county and we are working towards this by partnering with utilities,
local authorities, housing associations and installers.
Fuel Poverty Awareness Day was created by National Energy
Action, a charity that undergo a range of activities to support and enhance the
work of their members and stakeholders in treating the symptoms of fuel
poverty.
Maria Wardrobe, Director of Communications at NEA, said: ‘’This winter, thousands of people will fall victim to the cold. It’s invading our homes and causing breathing problems, strokes and heart attacks.
“It’s making people’s lives stressful and miserable, and
preventing our children from thriving.”
Duncan McCombie, CEO of YES Energy Solutions explained: “Fuel
poverty is a plight that far too many people face in this country.
“Someone in fuel poverty frequently has to make the choice
between a warm home or a warm meal, and so often these people have families,
are elderly or suffer from an illness.
“However, our staff are working to turn this around through our energy efficiency schemes all over the country to provide funding for home improvements to get people out of fuel poverty.”
YES Energy Solutions are looking to work with organisations keen to reduce fuel poverty, and are currently managing multiple projects across Great Britain.
