YES were crowned winners in two categories at the prestigious National Energy Efficiency Awards on Friday.
The National Energy Efficiency Awards celebrate success in the industry, and recognise help for people in fuel poverty whilst reducing CO2 emissions.
We were named Project Management Company of the Year for our multiple fuel poverty alleviation schemes throughout the country, the second consecutive year we have won the award.
Our ethical achievement of helping vulnerable householders in fuel poverty reduce their lifetime fuel bills by £36 million in 2021 was noted by the judges.
The LAD funded project - The Scunthorpe Communities Regeneration Scheme - in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council was voted the best in the country, winning National Insulation Project of the Year.
The Scunthorpe scheme alone helped 163 fuel poor residents receive fully funded external wall insulation with installs from Renderclad Ltd.
Many householders were elderly and living in inefficient park homes that got extremely cold in winter.
Park home resident in the scheme, Tony Charles said: “It’s improved the look of the house and it’s saved me money every month of my gas bill, when you’re an old age pensioner that matters a lot!”
Representatives from YES Energy Solutions were presented with the awards by comedian Tom Allen at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham.
Duncan McCombie, CEO of YES Energy Solutions, explained:
“Accepting awards is always an honour but it’s the team at YES Energy Solutions who deserve all the credit for the hard work they do all year round.
“Every efficient boiler we put in and every layer of insulation we install goes a long way to alleviating fuel poverty and reducing carbon emissions, and to have this recognised nationally is a significant achievement.
“In a difficult year for many businesses, we showed resilience and continued our mission to support the most vulnerable householders in communities up and down the country.”
We were runners up in the Funding Provider of the Year category having supplied a total of £19 million to eligible householders in 2021 through various Government energy efficiency schemes.
The North Yorkshire Warm Homes Fund was also highly commended by the judges.
Judges recognised the local contributions from YES having recently supplied Calderdale rehabilitation charity Alpha House with 10 fully funded central heating systems using £14,000 of their own capital.
A huge thank you goes to our team with every individual contribution helping these achievements for the company.
And thank you to all of our partners, without them we would not be able to do our award-winning work.
