YES Energy Solutions shortlisted for Energy Management Project of the year Nov 25, 2021

The North Yorkshire Warm Homes Fund, a project managed by YES alongside Northern Gas networks has been shortlisted in Edie’s Sustainability Leaders Awards.

The North Yorkshire Warm Homes Fund, a project managed by YES on behalf of North Yorkshire CC, Hambleton DC, Richmondshire DC, Ryedale DC and Scarborough BC, has been shortlisted in Edie’s Sustainability Leaders Awards.

Edie is the world’s largest sustainable business award scheme and it aims to award and promote businesses championing net-zero carbon programmes and general campaigns to reduce greenhouse gasses.

The overall goal of the scheme was to reduce fuel poverty by helping a host of vulnerable residents reap the benefits of gas powered central heating.

Through the project 143 residents in the Hambleton, Richmodshire, Ryedale and Scarborough districts received fully funded gas powered central heating systems.

Furthermore eligible residents received funding for new gas connections, providing their homes with heating just in time for the coming winter months.

In total The North Yorkshire Warm Homes Fund has saved £1.6 million on lifetime bills for residents taking part in the scheme.

When asked how they felt about the scheme 64 year old Peter Benson said “I was so happy when I found out it was fully funded because I have never had central heating in my life, I was made up”
