Jenny- Cadent

Referred by one of our trusted partners, Jenny has set out on a journey towards major savings. By following the energy-saving techniques we shared during our call, she's expected to save up to £700 a year on her heating bills.

Here's what she had to say:

“It’s just me, alone living here in my flat,” says Jenny from Birmingham. Her sister passed away a few years ago, and the rest of her family live abroad.

“I don’t like to push myself too much onto other people, and don’t expect the help.”

Jenny has health conditions that are aggravated due to the cold conditions in her flat. Her arthritis and psoriasis flare up when the temperature drops – and then when it comes to washing her hands in warm water – the hot temperature burns her cold joints. “But I can’t go without washing my hands now can I?”

“I’m now on universal credit as I struggle to work. My legs are not good – and I struggle with walking a lot. Last October I was out at the shops – as it was not as cold then – and I received the call back from YES Energy Solutions. I asked for him to call me back as I didn’t want to talk out on the precinct. So they call me back when I got home.

“I wasn’t expecting anything – so the help that I got was wonderful. Truly appreciated. I thought ‘Oh yes I’ll take that help!’

Jenny received over the phone advice and the Energy Advice Pack that was sent out to her home.

“Oh yes, the pack – I’ve put aside the tools – like the window film – to use when I need it. And that little sand timer for the showers! It’s so cute – I liked the red colour too.

“When I got the pack – I saw the ‘Refer a friend’ cards. Well, I went downstairs to my neighbour and gave her one. See she lives alone too and has 3 kids so I suspect she would benefit from this. I told her to call these people as they have helped me – and they’ll help you too.

“If something has been good for me, then I’ll pass it on. If it’s something I’m uncomfortable with, then I don’t pass it on. Talking to the team – they were so welcoming. It was like talking to a friend. They were pleasant and I didn’t feel put out at all talking with them.

“I would recommend them to anyone. If they have helped me, they could help you too. Bless them all.”

With the advice given, it’s estimated that by implementing the techniques from the call, Jenny can save up to £700 a year towards the bills for heating her flat.
