Scheme In Detail

System built properties with solid walls are some of the least energy efficient in the UK. With no cavities to insulate, any heat generated is lost at a much higher rate than more modern houses.

There is funding available that can contribute towards the cost of external wall insulation, helping residents retain heat in their homes and reduce their fuel bills.

Further financial support was available through the Council in this scheme to help homeowners upgrade their properties’ thermal performance.

Funding

Through the Government’s ECO programme, YES Energy Solutions secured funding to contribute towards the cost of external wall insulation. Any suitable home qualified, however residents that claim specific state benefits were likely to get higher funding allocations.

The amount of funding available was determined by the size of the property which was confirmed through a technical survey.

Some residents also qualified for further support through North Lincolnshire Council who had a range of financial assistance available for eligible residents.

External wall insulation

External wall insulation can help keep residents warm for less whist enhancing a home’s visual appearance.

Insulation boards are fastened to a property's exterior, then covered with a silicon render. Each insulation systems is fire resistant and come with a variety of different finishes and colours.

According to the Energy Saving Trust, external wall insulation can save householders between £260 - £455 a year on fuel bills.

A proactive partnership

YES Energy Solutions has been working with North Lincolnshire Council since 2015 on a range of energy efficiency schemes. This included an innovative Park Home Insulation programme which has helped improve the thermal performance of over 50 properties in the area.

The work carried out helped many local residents reduce their energy expenditure and improve their quality of life. It also had an impact at a national level, helping YES Energy Solutions win ‘Fuel Poverty Campaigner of the Year’ at the 2016 National Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards.

Positive results

YES alongside North Lincolnshire Council has now helped with the installation of EWI for 150 properties, this means that each of those homes have had improvement in their carbon reduction, energy bill savings and heating efficiency.

Alongside the installation comes the complete overall of the houses appearance, giving each home a new and improved look.
