Richmondshire - Energy Improvement Scheme

Richmondshire - Energy Improvement Scheme

Summary

YES Energy Solutions is working with Richmondshire District Council to deliver their Energy Improvement Scheme to provide eligible residents with funding for insulation and heating upgrades.

Scheme in Detail

The scheme allows eligible residents in Richmondshire to access home heating upgrades and insulation measures to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

The following measures available for eligible customers are:

  • Boiler replacements and repairs
  • First time central heating systems
  • Heating repairs
  • Loft insulation
  • Under floor insulation
  • Room in roof insulation
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • External wall insulation

Council funding will be combined with capital secured from the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme which will allow installations to be fully funded in the majority of cases.

The scheme aims to help Richmondshire residents save money on their fuel bills whilst making their homes warm and cosy.

Our involvement

YES Energy Solutions are managing the scheme, handling the customer journey and using our network of industry accredited contractors to install measures.

As a result of our partnerships with major energy companies, we are accessing the ECO scheme to support council funding. This blended approach will cover the costs of installs for the majority of residents.

Robert Hurray from Catterick received a fully funded gas central heating system to replace his old inefficient system. Having been off work due to a heart attack and losing his wife in an accident, the 55 year-old qualified under the council’s eligibility criteria for the scheme.
After seeing an advert on Facebook, Robert thought he could qualify.
“They said I could receive funding. I’ve never claimed anything in my life and I don’t receive any benefits. I just had some money left from my wife, but this is just going down and down.”
Robert’s central heating install was fully funded from the scheme managed by YES Energy Solutions who use their industry accredited contractors to complete the work.
“The installers were great, I’ve worked alongside lads like that for years and they were smashing. I couldn’t fault any part of it.”
Robert’s old boiler and radiators were replaced with an A-rated system and he is already feeling the benefits.
“Before, the boiler just wasn’t efficient enough, only one or two radiators got hot but now when it’s on full it’s really hot!
