YES Shortlisted for APSE Awards Jul 16, 2017

Two of YES Energy Solutions’ recent projects have been shortlisted for the 2017 APSE Service Awards.

Our recent collaborations with North Lincolnshire Council and Doncaster Metropolitan Council have earnt us two nominations at APSE’s prestigious annual awards ceremony.

We have been shortlisted for two awards out of over 300 applications:

Best Housing, Regeneration or New Build Initiative – for our Park Home Insulation Scheme with North Lincolnshire Council

Best Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Initiative - for our Central Heating Scheme with Doncaster Metropolitan Council

APSE (the Association for Public Service Excellence) is a proactive membership organisation made up of hundreds of influential Local Authorities. Their primary aim is to celebrate and promote the very best in public sector schemes that have had the greatest impact on local communities up and down the country.

Every year they run an awards ceremony to highlight the very best initiatives, processes and staff that have helped people improve their quality of life.

We are delighted to have been selected for this year’s final. Both of the projects that we have been nominated for have had a significant impact in reducing fuel poverty.

Our work in North Lincolnshire has helped transform the look and feel of over 60 Park Homes, offering insulation improvements to drive down resident energy bills. 

We have helped a series of vulnerable householders who haven’t been able to access support in the past, attain funding to improve the thermal values of their homes.

In Doncaster, we have been managing an innovative Central Heating Scheme designed to help householders off the mains gas network, connect to gas, revamp their heating facilities and improve their health and wellbeing. 

The scheme utilised funding from central government as well as capital from the CCG’s Boiler of Prescription programme. Many residents that suffer from cold related illnesses have been referred by health professionals for boiler upgrades and central heating improvements.

The APSE Service Awards takes place on the 7th September at the Kings Centre in Oxford. Fingers crossed - YES Energy Solutions and our Council partners will be victorious on the night.
