A recent YES Energy Solutions’ partnership has been nominated for a Worcester Bosch Environment 2020 Award.

Our innovative ‘Heat Pumps for Park Homes’ scheme has been shortlisted by the Worcester Bosh team in the Collaboration of the Year Category.

The Environment 2020 Awards celebrate those that have made a commitment to tackling Climate Change and making a direct impact in local communities.

As one of the UK’s leading heating products manufacturers, Worcester Bosch are keen to showcase best practice amongst its supply chain and stakeholder network. Every year they reward organisations, community groups and installers who have demonstrated commitment to cutting CO2.

Heat Pumps for Park Homes

Our partnership with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and accredited installers, Paynes Plumbing and Heating, has been recognised for its achievement in alleviating fuel poverty in Park Homes.

Since November 2015 we have been working at Attwood Close Park to help local residents to save energy, reduce their fuel bills and improve their home heating facilities.

Park Homes are some of the least energy efficient housing stock in the UK. The majority of them are off the mains gas network and have poor levels of insulation. Many residents pay over the odds on expensive fuel sources such as bottled gas and old fashioned electric room heaters.

Through the Technical Innovation Fund, YES Energy Solutions secured funding to implement a targeted renewable energy scheme where up to 30 Park Homes will be fitted with Air to Air Heat Pumps.

Acting like a refrigerator in reverse, Air to Air Heat Pumps transform the air from outside a property into domestic heat. This ground breaking technology can produce up to 5 times more heat that the amount of electricity it uses and can offer residents significant savings.

The first installations at the park have been completed and residents are already reaping the benefits of a low carbon alternative to traditional heating systems.

This year’s Worcester Bosh Environment 2020 Awards will take place at the beautiful Stanbrook Abbey Hotel near Malvern on 1st June.
