Aid for Ukraine
The effects of the Russo-Ukranian War have been felt worldwide since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
In the months following the outbreak, staff brought in a variety of medical supplies, toiletries, food and equipment which was donated to Halifax Ukrainian Club to be distributed to those fleeing the conflict.
Rokt
Five brave employees opted to take on a rock-climbing challenge, including a competition to see who could reach the top of a 70-foot-high wall all in support of Yorkshire Childrens Trust.
They surpassed £1,000 in sponsors.
Colour run
We extended our charity support to Forget Me Not by taking part in a colour run raising over £250 for the children’s hospice.
Covered in powder paint by the end of the course, 12 of our team took part in the event.
Yorkshire Childrens Trust toy donations
To support YCT’s yearly toy fundraiser for children with life limiting illnesses the YES team brought in both old and new toys, so those children had presents to open at Christmas.
Bake sale and clothing donations for Yorkshire Children's Trust
To raise money for YCT the whole YES team held a bake sale, selling a whole range of baked goods bakes and donating any spare clothes they had.
Christmas Jumper Day 2022
To raise money for YCT the whole YES team dressed up in their best Christmas jumpers and completed our festive quizzes.
In total we raised a whopping £1,400 for charity in 2022, whilst in 2023 we had even more fundraising opportunities in place.
World Mental Health Day
Staff were provided with various resources for themselves and their loved ones to access to support their mental health and took part in a variety of puzzles such as crosswords and word searches, a total of £112 was raised for MIND.
NEA awareness day
To raise money for NEA, staff joined in with our bake sale, quizzes and large selection of hot chocolate and tea to help them get that warm and cosy feeling that both YES and the NEA bring to vulnerable people across the UK.
Pride Month
Staff held a colour collection for Equity Partnership where they came dressed in the colours of various pride flags to raise money and support our local LGBTQ+ charity.
Haunting Halloween fundraiser
To show support for local charity Overgate Hospice, YES decided to utilise Halloween by fundraising for the charity, with a range of tricks and treats.
Christmas Jumper Day 2023
The YES team put in some festive effort and raised £94 for Overgate Hospice, a great charity who provide expert care for those living with a life-limiting illness.
Skydiving
To round up the 2023 financial year, our staff will be sky diving for Overgate Hospice, 5 members will be taking part raising £400 each.
In total we will soon reach over £2,000 raised for charity, surpassing the previous year's total.
Halifax food bank
The team pulled together to donate and sort through food canned goods such as tinned vegetables, beans and soup to the support The Gathering Place’s food bank service available on Fridays for families and Saturdays for individuals.
Happy Days Donation Hub
Six volunteers put in a full day’s work sorting and organising donations for the Halifax-based charity.
From coats, pants, shoes, and a full range of clothing to different tinned goods, the team was happy to sort through everything Happy Days needed.
Alpha House
YES sourced the funding for A-rated central heating in 10 Calderdale properties.
We then topped this up with a further £14,000 to fully support the charity which helps to rehouse prison leavers and those with a history of misuse.
Carbon Literacy
Our CEO Duncan McCombie and Business Development manager Alex Krzesinski held a presentation on climate change and how to build a greener future.

Free boiler
YES funded a brand-new Logic Combi boiler which was installed into Suzannes property in Huddersfield for free.
Before installation, Suzanne had an old inefficient 12-year-old boiler that was running poorly and making “very bizarre noises.”
She received the boiler due to her work for Santa’s Seniors, a local charity backed by Age UK.
Warm Hub Event
Four members of the YES team provided free energy advice and a one-to-one chat for Bradford residents at the Warm Hub Event.
Attendees were given free refreshments, hot drinks and a warm space to talk about their energy worries.
The event was held in partnership with Restore Recovery College.
