The price cap uncapped: Spring 2024 Apr 02, 2024

Every three months, energy regulator Ofgem reveals a new energy price cap, and millions of households across the UK hope for a lower rate.

Following an extreme spike in prices back in October 2021, around 6 million households are still experiencing a profound impact, according to National Energy Action.

Due to the new price cap effective from April 01, households will now be paying an average of 12% less on their energy bills, with the typical annual bill sitting at £1,690.

But this is still over £400 more expensive compared to October 2021, well above pre-pandemic levels, and those most as risk are still left to consider whether to heat or eat.

The energy crisis marks one part of an overall cost of living crisis, with UK residents struggling to make ends meet and compromising on even the basic necessities.

Community Interest Company YES Energy Solutions is offering financial and behavioural energy support, which can be accessed any time of the year.
