Richmondshire Council launch fund with YES Energy Solutions to make homes warmer Oct 09, 2019

Richmondshire District Council have funding available to provide residents with insulation, brand new A-rated boilers, and first time central heating for free in the majority of cases.

YES Energy Solutions are managing the scheme which will help qualifying residents in Richmondshire improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce their fuel bills.

The scheme is focussed on helping householders in the Richmondshire District who have high energy bills in relation to their income.

Residents can qualify for funding through a range of criteria, which includes receiving means tested benefits or being on a low household income with high energy bills.

In addition, elderly residents, those with a young family, pregnant women or residents with a health condition made worse by the cold, could also qualify for funding.

YES Energy Solutions are accessing The Government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme to provide additional funds to certain residents.

Councillor Philip Wicks, spokesperson for the Council’s Operational Services explained:

“This scheme is a fantastic opportunity for Richmondshire residents to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.”

“Residents in the scheme will be able to live in warmer and cosier homes this winter by making their fuel bills more affordable.”

“The launch of this scheme will help householders prepare for winter with a range of measures while reducing their contribution to climate change.”

Installations will be completed through YES Energy Solutions’ network of accredited local contractors.
