Leeds City Region Green Deal – Training for SMEs Dec 05, 2014

YES Energy Solutions are supporting the Leeds City Region Green Deal by promoting the fantastic training opportunities available to smaller contractors

By working in partnership with Construction & Housing Yorkshire, we have helped develop a unique training package aimed at helping SME installers achieve their PAS2030 accreditation at a significantly reduced rate.

Not only can smaller contractors become Government approved Green Deal installers, but also get the chance to win work on the Leeds City Region Green Deal – a major initiative which plans to install energy saving measures in over 28,000 homes across 10 Local Authority areas.

Through our Green Deal Installer Hub website, we are helping validate suitable Yorkshire based contractors who are looking for support with their accreditations.

Installers with less than 250 employees that are based in either: Leeds, Bradford, Selby, York, Harrogate, Craven, Calderdale, Kirklees, Wakefield or Barnsley, could join the subsidised training programme and get Green Deal accredited for the measures they install.

Jos Mister, Project Manager of Green Deal Installer Hub explained:

"This is a great opportunity for smaller organisations to up skill and be in a position to carry out installations under the Green Deal and ECO programmes. The cost of PAS2030 can be a barrier for many SMEs and sole traders, which means they miss out on the opportunities arising through these schemes. By taking advantage of our training package, they not only get industry approved but get the chance to join one of the region’s largest energy efficiency projects."

The Leeds City Region covers 10 Local Authority areas in Yorkshire. The project plans to create over 200 new jobs and 20 new apprentiships across the area.
