Free central heating scheme in North Yorkshire enters second phase

The North Yorkshire Warm Homes Fund is to enter its second phase after installing 74 fully funded central heating systems in the county.

The funding has been extended to help 100 more homeowners or private renting tenants that are currently using inefficient storage heaters, room heaters or fires.

North Yorkshire County Council are working with Hambleton, Richmondshire, Ryedale and Scarborough Borough councils to deliver the scheme.

The project helps vulnerable householders who receive certain benefits, or have a household income below £21,000 and meet additional criteria such as having young children, being over 70 or having specific health conditions.

Funding is secured from the Warm Homes Fund – an innovative funding stream established by National Grid and administered by Affordable Warmth Solutions to help make households in Great Britain warmer, healthier and cheaper to heat.

Each district council is providing match funding and there are separate gas connection grants available.

We are managing installs with our industry accredited contractors.

Residents who are interested in the scheme should contact us on 01422 880100 or request a call back.
