Cavity Wall Insulation Suitable for Stone Homes
Cavity Wall Insulation Suitable for Stone Homes Jan 14, 2014
Residents that live in random stone properties could receive grants for cavity wall insulation thanks to the Government’s new ECO (Energy Company Obligation) programme.
ECO supports properties that are traditionally hard to insulate and offers subsidised energy saving solutions that help residents save energy and reduce fuel bills.
Yorkshire stone houses are amongst the most difficult to insulate, due to the irregularity of their cavities. Most insulation materials can only be applied if a cavity is smooth and even.
However, Technitherm is a new insulation product which has been designed to solve the problem and work effectively in random stone properties. Not only does it slip into nooks and carries, but comes with a 25 year manufacturer’s guarantee.
YES Energy Solutionsare currently working in the Halifax area to discuss the benefits of Technitherm insulation with local residents who live in stone properties. Through the Governments ECO scheme, we can claim funding to cover or contribute towards installation costs, providing properties are technically suitable. In some cases residents could receive installations completely free of charge.
ECO has helped fund thousands of installations, but due to recent policy changes the funding stream for insulation is likely to tighten over the coming months. Residents interested in insulating their stone homes are advised to get in touch before funding runs out.
YES Energy Solutions is offering Technitherm installations on a first come, first served basis. We hope to be able to improve the thermal efficiency of hundreds of hard to insulate properties over the coming weeks.
