Residents that live in random stone properties could receive grants for cavity wall insulation thanks to the Government’s new ECO (Energy Company Obligation) programme.

ECO supports properties that are traditionally hard to insulate and offers subsidised energy saving solutions that help residents save energy and reduce fuel bills.

Yorkshire stone houses are amongst the most difficult to insulate, due to the irregularity of their cavities. Most insulation materials can only be applied if a cavity is smooth and even.

However, Technitherm is a new insulation product which has been designed to solve the problem and work effectively in random stone properties. Not only does it slip into nooks and carries, but comes with a 25 year manufacturer’s guarantee.
