87-year-old Dorothy explained to us her experience of having solar panels fitted onto her home in Filey
"I've lived at this bungalow for eight years now.
"I did have gas central heating when I came here and I can use it more now I've got solar panels in, I feel."
We asked Dorothy how she became involved in the scheme.
"Well, Scarborough Council sent me a letter through - it was for a few areas like Scarborough and Ryedale, and they were all joining force to help people with their energy.
"I filled in the form, and all I put down for was loft insulation and cavity wall insulation.
"I hadn't put down for solar panels, I didn't think I was going to be able to have it to be honest, but after that the surveyor came round. He had a good look round and he asked if I was going to have solar panels in, because all of my insulation was fine.
"I said well, I'm not going to push because I've never had anything for free.
"Anyway, I'd all but forgotten about it, then I got a phone call one day saying I could have them."
She then talked through her customer journey with us at YES.
"It was a lovely surprise, and it looks lovely, there's about 11 panels on the roof.
"The customer call team were absolutely brilliant, and so were the men that came to work here, they were all very nice.
"From the scaffolders to the workmen that came, and the electrician - Do you know, I can't complain about any of them.
"If they made a mess, they cleaned it up, and they made such a neat job of everything.
"It was absolutely brilliant, it went very smooth. I can't recommend it enough."
