Sandra Galloney from Leeds describes how pleased she is with her warm, cosy home since YES Energy Solutions installed external solid wall insulation.

"I’m so happy with the work done at my home," explained Sandra. "My house is warmer, looks gorgeous and over the years it will lower my bills."

Sandra has lived in her semi-detached home in the Oakwood area of Leeds since 1969. Rather than move into a more modern property, Sandra wanted to improve the home she knows and loves.

"I noticed that one of my neighbours up the road had got her walls done and it looked great. I had enquired about cavity wall insulation in the past, but I later found out that my home didn’t have a cavity. Solid wall insulation seemed like a good idea. I couldn’t believe it when I found out that I could get a grant to help towards the costs."

Sandra is retired and since moving on from her local ice cream business, the necessity of saving money has become a priority.

"Last year my bills were terrible! Between gas and electric I was spending hundreds. I had no choice but to become more energy conscious. Before the work was carried out it always seemed cold in the house. I would put extra clothes on just to keep warm. But now it feels nice even without the heating on. It’s a good thing this insulation, I’m very pleased."

Having applied for an ECO grant through YES Energy Solutions, Sandra managed to claim funding to cover the majority of her installation costs.

"When the surveyor came, he measured everything up and looked round the house. He then said that I was eligible for an insulation grant. This considerably reduced the cost of the work. I was 100% happy with the quote. The price was right and it just made sense to go ahead."

Since having her home insulated, Sandra has started encouraging her friends and family to save energy and money.

"I would recommend YES Energy Solutions to anyone. They did a great job and I’m confident that this will reduce my fuel bills. I was going to paint the outside of the house anyway so they’ve saved me a job! Winter's on its way so I am very pleased I got the work done just in time!"
