Louis Read - Gas Central Heating

Louis Read from Winchester received funding for a gas connection and A-rated central heating system from SGN’s Help to Heat Scheme.

Louis was relying on an unreliable oil boiler for heating, a cause for concern for him and his wife with two children aged 11 and 12.

Louis explained: “I found the scheme whilst my heating was being temperamental. When we found out we could get the funding me and my wife were very happy, it was a huge relief.

“The heating system install was actually rushed through because eventually our old oil boiler just broke.”

Louis had his brand new energy efficient heating system installed during the coronavirus pandemic, with emergency work continuing to ensure the household wasn’t left without heating.

“The contractors were great, I was really happy with the installation, it all ran very smoothly.

“I was really happy with Felicity on the phone, she took control of my install and I’m thrilled with the outcome, it worked out brilliantly!

“When it comes to winter I’m sure we’ll see the benefits of the new system, with children heating’s essential.”

YES Energy Solutions are working in partnership with the gas distribution network SGN to help residents in Scotland and Southern England connect to mains gas and receive first-time central heating for little or no cost.

Help to Heat

SGN’s Help to Heat scheme provides funding to help householders in Scotland and southern England who are not currently on the mains gas network.

For the majority of eligible residents that live near to a gas supply, a connection will be fully funded through the scheme.

You may qualify if you receive certain benefits or have a low household income.
