Between January - November 2012, YES Energy Solutions delivered the Wrap Up Leeds home insulation scheme in partnership with Leeds City Council.
Scheme In Detail
Wrap Up Leeds offered homeowners and private renting tenants from across the authority access to free cavity wall and loft insulation.
With a strong commitment to increasing domestic energy efficiency levels, Leeds City Council designed the scheme to help reduce fuel poverty across the city.
Throughout the course of the scheme 10,007 home insulation measures were installed and over 500 people were lifted out of fuel poverty.
YES Energy Solutions was ultimately responsible for promoting the project, signing up customers, conducting surveys and managing the scheme's installers and sub-contractors.
Wrap Up Leeds was available throughout the whole of the Leeds authority and worked on a first come first served basis. YES Energy Solutions employed a team of assessors to work in key wards and engage householders over the doorstep.
George Munson, Energy and Climate Change Manager for Leeds City Council explained:
"Leeds City Council awarded a contract to YES shortly before Christmas to deliver a turnkey CERT insulation scheme to up to 15,000 private sector homes in Leeds, before the end of the CERT period. The efficiency and enthusiasm of the YES staff (and their excellent contacts) meant that the scheme was ready for a soft launch on the 3rd January and was fully up and running on the 23rd January, quite a remarkable feat!
"This hard work has continued and less than 2 months in we had reached 5,000 enquiries and were ahead of target on all the main KPIs. ...Wrap Up Leeds has been a great example of a Council, local social enterprise and the private sector working together to make the most of our different skills."
