Scheme In Detail

The scheme was first implemented in 2013 to help reduce fuel poverty across the district and help local residents retain heat in their homes and reduce their fuel bills.

Hundreds of Council owned properties have been transformed through the application of external solid wall insulation, which has also helped reduce CO2 emissions and brighten up whole neighbourhoods.

As project managers, YES Energy Solutions coordinated the installations, supported the marketing process, carried out household assessments and facilitated the funding.

Homes that were off the gas network were targeted first. This ensured that those residents having to pay disproportionate amounts for energy to heat their properties were the first to benefit.

Installations have taken place in several locations including: Grantham, Bourne and Stamford.

During the first phase of the project, 292 Council dwellings were externally insulated. Results from our customer satisfaction surveys revealed that 9 out of 10 residents felt that the insulation had made their homes feel warmer and more comfortable.

The scheme was extended in 2015 thanks to funding procured through the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) programme. This has enabled many more properties in the Stamford area to receive subsidised insulation measures.

In parallel to the Council scheme, we have also helped many private householders from the area benefit from funded energy efficiency improvements. Homeowners and landlords have been able to improve the look and feel of their homes through external solid wall insulation and gas boiler replacements.
