National Energy Foundation partnership with YES Energy Solutions


YES Energy Solutions is working in partnership with National Energy Foundation (NEF) to deliver The Better Housing Better Health Service which includes energy efficiency improvements for eligible householders in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Scheme in Detail

National independent charity NEF are working with a number of local authorities in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire area to deliver The Better Housing Better Health Service (BHBH) - an initiative offering energy advice and providing top-up funding for household efficiency measures.

NEF added YES Energy Solutions to its framework of contractors in July 2018, with the contract being renewed for the 2019-20 financial year.

Following referrals from NEF, YES Energy Solutions will manage the customer journey for installations through to completion.

Funding for installations will be provided by the Government’s ECO scheme, with any shortfalls in funding filled by NEF’s BHBH Service.

The majority of measures installed in qualifying properties are energy efficient boiler upgrades, however there is scope for cavity wall and loft insulation measures.

Residents taking part in the scheme will be able to save money on their energy bills, whilst being able to live in warmer more comfortable homes.

Our involvement

YES Energy Solutions are validating customers and facilitating technical surveys, installations and after care inspections. Installations are being completed by our network of accredited contractors.

We are securing ECO funding from a number of major energy companies for the scheme, which will be combined with capital accessed from BHBH to make up any shortfalls.

We are also working with NEF to facilitate LA Flex with local authorities in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Due to the success of the partnership, other possible energy efficiency projects may be explored in the future.

Cathy's story

Cathy from Banbury had a brand new A-rated central heating system installed.

Cathy explained: "My little boy and I are so happy to be warm. When we walk through the door the warmth makes it so welcoming. I no longer have to wear two or three jumpers and a woolly hat in the house."

"Being warm has lifted my spirits so much and made me feel motivated again. I hadn’t realised how much being cold can affect everything, but looking back now I can see how much of an effect it had. I’m so relieved that we don’t have to face the rest of the winter the way it was before the central heating was installed."

A massive thank you also to the installer who I know also went out of his way to make this possible and worked extremely hard to install the central heating as quickly and efficiently as possible, and at the same time was kind and understanding about our situation."
