Expert energy saving advice is available for all residents in Bromsgrove and Redditch - the service is now provided by Act on Energy (0800 988 2881).

YES Energy Solutions managed the scheme from April 2019 - June 2022 allowing householders from the two catchment areas to call our energy advisors to receive guidance on how best to reduce their fuel bills.

We offered support on a range of topics including:

• Finding the best tariff and energy deals
• How to best use heating controls
• Available funding schemes
• Lifestyle changes that can make significant savings

In addition, funding is available for eligible residents to support the installation of a range of energy efficient home improvements such as:

• cavity wall insulation
• loft insulation
• A-rated boilers
• and more.

The scheme is now run by Act On Energy.

Julie Horton's story

Retired Julie Horton owned an outdated boiler but thanks to the Bromsgrove and Redditch Energy Advise Service Scheme she was able to access funding for a brand new A rated boiler.

The scheme helps people in Bromsgrove and Redditch receive funding for the installation of:

• Cavity wall insulation

• Loft insulation

• A-rated boilers

It also provides advice and support on a range of topics aimed at helping customers reduce their fuel bills.

YES Energy Solutions in partnership with Bromsgrove and Redditch council helped Julie receive a brand new A-rated Boiler in replacement of her old gas boiler.

“I have needed a new boiler for a while, mine was struggling to keep the house warm”

With winter here Julie told us about how important the new boiler was:

“The boiler came just in time, it has helped keep me warm and give me hot water when I needed it most”

In terms of the installers performance who were responsible for the quick and successful boiler installation Julie said:

“They did a great job, the installers were very friendly, chatty and I highly recommend them”

YES helped Julie qualify for the funding, when asked about our service she said:

“very useful, they answered all questions I had and got me through the process quickly”

Our involvement

In July 2019 Redditch Borough Council and Bromsgrove District Council appointed YES Energy Solutions as the new delivery partner for their Energy Advice Service.

We accessed the Government's Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme to provide additional funding to support installations.

Our network of accredited installers completed installations for residents qualifying for funding from the service and, where council contributions are used, issue carbon monoxide alarms where appropriate and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for upgraded properties.

Over three years, we helped the councils continue to reduce their contribution to climate change by improving energy usage while helping vulnerable residents live in warmer and cosier homes.
