The scheme was delivered in partnership with the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Pensions Service, National Energy Action (NEA), Primary Care Trusts and various Local Authorities.
YES Energy Solutions coordinated the processing of all completed Hotspots referral cards in the West Yorkshire region. Our Customer Contact Centre advisors were responsible for speaking to householders who had their details submitted by a frontline worker from one of the partner organisations and making appropriate cross referrals to one or more of the other service providers within the Hotspots partnership.
Throughout 2013, training was given to approximately 412 individuals with an additional 1,200 people receiving refresher training. As a result, a total of 2,394 referrals to further support were made via Hotspots.
Mrs Blakely from Ossett, West Yorkshire, complimented the service provided after her referral:
"Everything moved very quickly – It might have been two weeks but it didn’t seem very long at all before I received a letter from the Fire Service – they came to the house and did their checks then another lady from the energy place put me in touch with pensions. A woman from the Pensions Service came to the house for a visit, we had a chat and she filled in the forms and everything. I found out I was entitled to an allowance I didn’t even know about! So it was very positive, my money has increased."
