Sole traders and smaller contracting firms across Yorkshire were able to get the chance to get Green Deal accredited at a heavily subsidised rate - thanks to a unique training package developed as part of the Leeds City Region Green Deal scheme.
YES Energy Solutions helped eligible companies who required support with their PAS2030 accreditation. This is a critical industry requirement for any installer wishing to carry out work under the Government’s Energy Company Obligation or Green Deal Programmes.
The subsidised training package was funded through the Green Deal Communities programme, which is one of the latest initiatives established by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). Organisations across the Leeds City Region worked in partnership to help SME installers increase productivity at a local and regional level.
Through our installer network we are asked contractors to express an interest in the training programme. Those with less than 250 employees based within the Leeds City Region catchment could have been eligible for the scheme.
What’s more, local installers had the chance to win work on the Leeds City Region Green Deal – a major area based initiative that aims to improve the energy efficiency standards of over 28,000 homes in 10 local authority areas.
The project launched in 2015 and created over 200 new jobs and 20 new apprenticeships across the area.
