YES Energy Solutions shortlisted for South West Small Scale Project of the Year Mar 07, 2019
YES Energy Solutions in partnership with Teignbridge District Council and EDF Energy has been shortlisted for regional small scale project of the year at the South West Energy Efficiency Awards for our scheme in Devon.
The Energy Efficiency Awards recognise excellence in the energy efficiency sector, and YES Energy Solutions has been shortlisted for work that has delivered high quality insulation for vulnerable Park Home residents.
As a result of ECO funding secured by EDF Energy, YES Energy Solutions project managed the external wall insulation installs on 12 old and inefficient park homes across three sites in South Devon.
Working in partnership with EDF Energy, and Teignbridge District Council, the pilot scheme was delivered through the council's ECO flexible eligibility criteria, allowing more residents to qualify for funding.
The scheme was new to Teignbridge District Council, and had a substantial impact on deprived residents who would not otherwise be able to afford to insulate their homes.
With external wall insulation installed, each property has been both thermally and visually transformed.
A grateful Teignbridge park home resident, Mr Basham, said:
“Before I applied for the scheme, the park home got cold very quickly due to its construction of thin wood. The schedule was well communicated, there was no disruption to my home and I was happy with the time it took to complete. I have lived in this home for 6 years with no insulation, and I can definitely feel the benefits.”
Michael Gage, YES Energy Solutions Health and Safety Compliance Manager, said:
“YES are thrilled to be nominated for this project which allowed us to help 12 vulnerable households by installing EWI on their park home properties. “This pilot scheme has laid the foundations for future similar projects nationwide. “These improvements will make a huge difference to the heating costs for the residents, as well as vastly improving the external appearance.”
There are 6 nominees for the annual award which will be presented on March 29 in Bristol.
