YES Energy Solutions
is warning of a tough winter ahead after Ofgem announces new October price cap.
The price cap was due to increase to £3,549, rising by 80% from the current price of £1,971.
With the Government’s new Energy Price Guarantee scheme, this lowered the average to £2,500, not including the £400 electricity discount households are set to receive.
While economic forecasts look less bleak since the introduction of this scheme, a partner of YES Energy Solutions, National Energy Action, predicts 6.7 million people could be in fuel poverty this winter – 200,000 more than current.
