YES employees pledge support for Clean Air Day Jun 18, 2019

Clean Air Day UK YES Energy Solutions

YES Energy Solutions employees are doing their bit to support Clean Air Day on Thursday 20th June by reducing their contribution to air pollution.

Staff have pledged to leave their car at home and to cycle, walk or car share on their journey to work instead.

Employees are also pledging to switch their engine off when possible and take quieter routes on their way to work, helping to reduce air pollution in the area.

Clean Air Day will see schools, hospitals, workplaces and communities across the UK run events to take simple steps to protect their health and the health of their families from air pollution.

YES Energy Solutions are aiming to inspire employees and residents in Halifax to understand what actions they can take to reduce air pollution and limit its impact on their health and that of others.

Air pollution affects health from your first breath to your last, as the damage to health can start when we’re a baby and carry on through into old age.

The Clean Air Day campaign aims to demonstrate that the air pollution crisis is solvable and there are simple steps we can all take to help our families avoid toxic air and cut down on the pollution we produce.

Duncan McCombie, CEO of YES Energy Solutions, said: “Air pollution can have a serious impact on health, and it is important that everyone recognises the threats and are aware of how to change their behaviour to limit the risk to themselves and their families.

“At YES Energy Solutions we want to educate our employees of how to protect against air pollution in their daily life, as well as reduce the air pollution they themselves emit.”

Clean Air Day encourages practical actions and raises awareness, so we can understand the impacts of air pollution on our health.

Every school, hospital, workplace and community can get free access to expert advice on avoiding and tackling urban air pollution, all of which is approved by health experts and academics.
