Staff spotlight - from an energy advice expert! Apr 04, 2024

Today, we caught up with Advice coordinator Rebecca, to find out what it's like to work in the energy advice team at YES Energy Solutions.

First, she told us a bit about herself.

"I'm from Leeds.

"I love anything and everything creative, I would literally have a go at anything. I can paint and draw, I love embroidery at the minute, and I used to run my own cake decorating business!"

Favourite food: "Definitely lasagne."

Favourite animal: "Giraffes, I think they're beautiful with their long lashes!"

Favourite film: "Bridesmaids."

Next, she told us about her role and responsibilities.

"As an advice coordinator, the main part of my job is supporting customers. I offer advice, help with energy debts, and assess eligibility for energy efficiency funding.

"I have some other ad-hoc duties too, like updating projects tools and inputting data.

"And I'm responsible for supporting and training our wonderful admins!"

She then explained her favourite parts of working for YES.

"The people at YES! It's such a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. And it's very positive, busy and fast-paced but I like it that way.

"They're always encouraging you to progress, and give regular coaching sessions, one-to-ones with managers and professional development meetings.

"We're currently looking into managerial courses so I can upskill and potentially progress to manager one day!"

Finally, she offered some advice to a new or potential colleague.

"Never be afraid to ask questions, we're all here to help.

"And when it comes to your work, it's best to focus on the accuracy first. The speed and efficiency will come in time."
