The Government have announced a new scheme titled the Green Homes Grant to launch in September 2020.
The full details are yet to be released, however it is likely that vouchers up to a value of £5,000 will be issued to applicants in England to improve the energy efficiency of their home.
The Government will set aside £2 million for the Green Homes Grant, in an attempt to improve the UK's housing stock whilst creating jobs in the slump after the coronavirus lockdown.
We are still awaiting details about the scheme, however it is likely that vouchers will be available that contribute towards insulation measures such as:
There is also an indication the grants will cover double glazing as well.
The vouchers will probably cover two-thirds of the cost of the measure for the majority of householders, up to a limit of £5,000.
This means there will need to be a contribution from the householder, however more support may be available for those on lower incomes.
With relatively little contribution required, residents would be able to save hundreds of pounds in the long run by benefiting from a more energy efficient home.
The scheme is available to apply to, with the Simple Energy Advice (SEA) government service providing information on the process.
All homeowners can apply, and the scheme is also open to landlords of private and social housing.
Only TrustMark and MCS approved installers will be able to install the measures.
We are helping customers through the application process and directing them to our industry accredited installers.
YES Energy Solutions may be able to help you receive funding for:
(In Yorkshire & Humberside, North West, West Midlands, and central areas of the South East, East of England and the South West only.)
(In Yorkshire & Humberside, North West and certain parts of the West Midlands only.)
We are working with a number of our industry accredited installer partners to install the measures.
At this time we are only offering the listed insulation measures, and cannot help with funding towards low carbon heating, double glazing or doors.
You could get a grant to cover or contribute towards the cost of your home efficiency improvements through the Government’s Energy Company Obligations (ECO) scheme instead.
YES Energy Solutions works directly with major energy companies and has contracts in place to draw down ECO funding for eligible customers. We can check to see if you qualify for any support.
Depending on your circumstances, your property and the energy saving measures you choose, we may find that we can access a grant to cover the majority of the cost of the work.
Get in touch to find out what ECO funding we currently have available.
