Employees set to dig deep for Shaw Park

Our staff have put themselves forward to roll up their sleeves to help restore parts of Shaw Park in Holywell Green on Thursday 26th September.

25 employees from the YES Energy Solutions are taking part in a volunteering project led by Calderdale Council.

The Shaw Park Rejuvenation Project will include staff giving up their time to take part in garden makeovers, litter picking, bench restoration and path maintenance.

There will be friendly competition between employees to see who has the greenest fingers in the company.

Teachings will be conducted by Mark Dempsey, formally of Calderdale Council, throughout the day to inspire staff to make use of new skills at home.

Volunteers from Cleaner, Safer, Greener will also help out during the day.

The project aims to breathe life into Shaw Park which last underwent major restoration almost 10 years ago.

Duncan McCombie said: “Our local area has a wonderful array of green spaces and parks, and we are pledging to do our bit to maintain Halifax’s natural beauty.

“We have set aside time to allow our enthusiastic employees to learn new skills and improve Shaw Park for local residents to enjoy.”
