The ECO Deal (Energy Company Obligation) started in 2013 and is a Government funding stream working concurrently with Green Deal.
ECO is designed to help eligible homeowners and private tenants make their homes more energy efficient with energy saving products and services. These energy saving products will support lower fuel bills, assist in lowering carbon emissions and improve the look and feel of a property.
Who qualifies for ECO funding?
The Green Deal Provider Yorkshire Energy Services works directly with major utility companies and is able to access ECO funding for a wide range of installation products for eligible householders.
ECO helps homeowners and private renting tenants on low incomes that are in receipt of certain benefits, or residents that live in "hard to treat" properties. Depending on which Obligation strand the customer falls under, an ECO grant can be provided for a broad range of home improvements.
How do installers access ECO funding?
Installers wishing to access ECO funding must be accredited Green Deal installers with authorised PAS 2030 certification. Upon any installations taking place, the installer must identify which obligation the customer falls under . For example: CERO (Carbon Emissions Reduction Obligation, CSCO (Carbon Saving Community Obligation) or HHCRO ( Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation)
As a Green Deal provider, Yorkshire Energy Services can help SME contractors access ECO funding for their own projects. The organisation will review all ECO propositions from HUB members.
