Scam energy warnings

Customers have been warned that scammers want to take advantage of the difficult financial situation people now find themselves in.

The warning from the trading standards service covering Devon, Plymouth and Somerset has issued, told customers to be on the look out for scam calls offering financial support to help households with their energy bills.

Scammers are using SMS texts and emails, posing to be from genuine and legitimate sources, to contact recipients.

The overall goal of these scams is to get customers to click the link in the communication.
