climate change presentation

On the 28th March YES attended the Halifax Academy to hold a presentation on climate change and how to build a greener future.

Students and their families attended the presentation that was held by our CEO Duncan McCombie and team manager Alex Krzesinski.

The event was held on behalf of Calderdale Council and in partnership with:

  • Greener together
  • West Yorkshire Combined Authority
  • The Halifax Academy
  • Halifax Opportunities Trust

Throughout the interactive session our team answered questions on how to lower your carbon footprint whilst helping the students to better understand how climate change can impact them, their family, and their local community.

The presentation also covered what climate change is/how it is caused, why their impact on the environment matters and what steps could be taken to reduce that impact.

Once the presentation had finished, the families took away a free Ramadan hamper, a hand-written pledge detailing the steps their family would take to help the environment and the knowledge to help them achieve that.
