Calderdale residents can get funded installs from Calderdale Council and YES - helping or local community Sep 20, 2024

The Home Upgrade Grant project supports householders whose homes are not heated by mains gas, by providing council-funded upgrades to their homes such as Solar PV, insulation and air source heat pumps.

In partnership with Calderdale Council’s Healthy Homes Service, the scheme is delivered by award-winning Halifax based Community Interest Company YES Energy Solutions, to deliver projects supporting sustainability and net zero carbon emissions. YES Energy Solutions has over 20 years of experience in installing energy efficiency measures, and in the last year alone has helped over 11,000 householders.

YES Energy Solutions’ CEO Duncan McCombie, said: “With this partnership and project, we will be able to help make local homes cosy and more energy efficient while also providing tailored advice to promote better saving habits as the nights get longer.

“We know times have just got tougher. A ten percent hike in energy bills start in October, cuts to financial support for millions of pensioners and the colder wetter months approaching, but help is at hand. Our experienced teams are on hand to help all residents across Calderdale with expert guidance throughout your energy efficiency journey with this funding.

To qualify for the scheme, eligible householders must not heat their home by mains gas, have a gross household income of £36,000 or below, and their property will must have an Energy Performance Certificate of D, E, F or G. Funding is currently available to homeowners. If residents live within certain postcodes in Calderdale, they only need to be off mains gas and have a low energy rating of D and below to qualify – the team can advise if your postcode is an eligible postcode.
