Housing associations play a vital role in providing safe, comfortable and energy-efficient homes for their residents.

YES Energy Solutions works with housing associations and registered social landlords across the UK to deliver energy advice, retrofit programmes and home improvements that help achieve long-term decarbonisation goals.

As a profit-for-purpose led Community Interest Company, we focus on improving homes and tackling fuel poverty. This means our work with housing associations is always centred on delivering meaningful outcomes for residents and communities.

How we support housing associations

Housing providers are under increasing pressure to improve the energy performance of their homes while supporting tenants with the cost of living.

YES Energy Solutions helps housing associations by providing a coordinated delivery model that combines advice, retrofit expertise and installation capability.

We work with housing providers to:

  • Deliver energy advice and tenant support programmes
  • Identify homes suitable for retrofit improvements
  • Coordinate delivery of insulation, heating and renewable technologies
  • Manage government-funded retrofit programmes (i.e. Warm Homes Social Housing Fund schemes)
  • Support long-term housing decarbonisation strategies
  • Identify and remediate damp and mould

By combining technical delivery with tenant support, we help housing associations improve both the condition of homes and the wellbeing of residents.

Tailored energy saving support for tenants

Improving buildings is only one part of tackling fuel poverty.

YES Energy Solutions also delivers energy advice programmes that help tenants better understand their energy use, access financial support and connect with funding for home improvements.

Our advisers provide personalised guidance tailored to each household’s circumstances, helping residents maximise income and make positive behaviour changes.

This joined-up approach ensures both the home and the resident receive the support they need.

Retrofit delivery in practice

YES Energy Solutions deliver energy saving programmes that improve social housing.

For example, our teams supported retrofit delivery within the North Yorkshire Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) programme, a £3.82 million initiative designed to upgrade 150 council owned homes to EPC band C. As a key delivery partner, we installed insulation improvements, air source heat pumps, solar PV systems and ventilation upgrades in a variety of property types. These energy saving measures increased EPC ratings and helped vulnerable residents keep warm for less.

We recently completed a commission with Tuntum Housing Association, where we designed and installed external wall insulation systems on hard-to-treat dwellings across Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Complying to PAS standards, many of the properties required additional renovation works including roofline extensions. Our specialist teams worked with system manufacturers to source the best insulation products, helping protect dwellings from harsh weather conditions whilst improving property U-values.

Projects like these demonstrate how coordinated retrofit programmes can transform existing housing and help tenants reduce their energy bills.
