Mr Chuter - Gas Central Heating

Having struggled with oil powered heating for the last 20 years, Anthony and Mabel Chuter from Tadley (Hampshire) decided it would be more economical to switch to Mains Gas.

The Chuters were spending hundreds of pounds a year on oil; so much so that they had to cap the amount of fuel that they were using. Anthony explained:

"It was becoming a bit of a nuisance getting a new supply of oil each month and having to pay for it even before we had used any. It just made sense to change over to mains gas."

The Chuters were referred to the Assisted Gas Connection Programme, a scheme managed by YES Energy Solutions in partnership with Southern Gas Networks. After checking the couples personal details, YES Energy Solutions informed Anthony that there was Government funding available to cover the cost of a brand new gas boiler.

"The adviser explained that due to our circumstances we would also be eligible for grant funding. We just felt overwhelmed by it all; we could not believe that we could get a gas boiler free of charge!"

The connection was soon carried out and a new condensing gas boiler was installed in the property.

"Each and every person that we dealt with was fantastic. The installers in particular were smashing guys and ever so considerate."

Since switching to mains gas, Mr and Mrs Chuter feel confident that they will save money on their next heating bill. They now look forward to enjoying a warmer home for less.
