Laura Croucher - Gas Boiler Replacement

Laura Croucher from Aldershot in Hampshire, describes how her new condensing boiler has helped her stay warm without turning up the heat.

For the last 30 years, Laura has struggled to heat her home. Her old boiler was so ancient that you could no longer get any spare parts if ever it was to break down. She knew something had to be done.

"It would just get so cold in the winter...I would have both the electric fire and central heating on, but still it was freezing. As luck would have it I received a letter from YES Energy Solutions about funding for boiler replacements. When I spoke to the adviser over the doorstep, he told me about what support was available. I jumped at the chance to get involved."

Laura knew that her old boiler was inefficient and needed replacing, but she just didn’t have the money available to make the upgrade.

"My daughter contacted YES Energy Solutions directly, to find out if the offer was legit. We were a little wary at first and thought that there might be a catch. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me that they could get full funding to cover the costs."

The installation was financed through a scheme facilitated by Hampshire County Council using funds from the Department for Energy and Climate Change. Days later, YES Energy Solutions’ Gas Safe engineers fitted a new boiler in Laura’s home.

"I am extremely happy that they let me know about the scheme. It’s been a godsend! We cannot thank YES Energy Solutions and Hampshire County Council enough. The nicest gentlemen came to do the work. Very courteous indeed. We would have trusted them with our lives!"

Laura is now enjoying the benefits of ‘A’ rated central heating and is confident that she will start saving money on her energy bills.

"I have already noticed a difference during the cold spell a few weeks ago. I was so surprised at how hot the radiators got, as they never warmed up before. It’s brilliant really!"
