Mr Mortlock - Gas Central Heating

Mr Mortlock from Bognor Regis received a gas connection from the SGN Help to Heat Scheme.

Funded by SGN, the gas connection allowed an A-rated central heating system install to replace old inefficient electric storage heaters.

Talking about his experience with YES Energy Solutions and SGN, Mr Mortlock said: “I’m absolutely over the moon with the service I have received by everybody.

“It’s been phenomenally good and restored some of my faith in humanity. There’s terrible things happening in the world and when you get these nice things happening it’s marvellous.”

He explained that he had a motorbike accident in his mid-forty’s which forced him into retirement.

“The setback I had which was 9 years ago in June set me back and forced me into retirement. I was looked after by the NHS and it’s good to see SGN and YES carry on the good will, it’s absolutely heart-warming.

“I’m a good example of someone cut short in their working career and have received support from everyone around me.

"It should be shouted from the rooftops how good these schemes are, I’m very pleased with how things have worked out.”

The gas connection was installed during the coronavirus pandemic and he told of his experience with the Help to Heat Team:

“Credit to you, you’ve all been very positive, I’ve spoken to your team many times and you’ve always been supportive.”

Help to Heat

SGN’s Help to Heat scheme provides funding to help householders in Scotland and southern England who are not currently on the mains gas network.

For the majority of eligible residents that live near to a gas supply, a connection will be fully funded through the scheme.

You may qualify if you receive certain benefits or have a low household income.
