​Wave 1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund launches

Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

Registered providers of social housing may now apply for wave 1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

The SHDF has up to £160m available in funding and aims to support the installation of energy performance measures in social homes across England as well as upgrade a significant amount of social housing stock to an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C.

The fund will help in the delivery of:

  • Warm and energy efficient homes
  • The Reduction of carbon emissions
  • The support of green jobs
  • Development of the retrofit sector
  • A Reduction of fuel poverty
  • Improvement in the comfort, health and wellbeing of social housing tenants

The funding is only available to Local authority’s and private registered providers of social housing who must apply as part of a consortium with a lead local authority in England.

Social housing providers can apply by visiting the Government's website.
