The Government ring-fenced £300m of funding for local authorities to improve the energy efficiency of domestic properties in England.
The funding has been distributed to councils via five Local Energy Hubs (LEPS) for projects to be delivered by December 2021.
Local authorities may work alongside their respective Local Energy Hub to form their project proposals, and use resources from the Hub to help deliver their energy efficiency scheme.
Funding must be targeted at low-income households likely to be in fuel poverty, this includes household incomes below the £30,000 threshold.
The scheme aims to improve domestic properties rated in EPC band D or below with the install of insulation and/or low-carbon heating such as solar PV or heat pumps.
Projects provide fully funded energy efficiency measures up to a value of £10,000 to improve the warmth of properties and reduce resident's fuel bills.
The schemes will be open to private renters and social housing tenants as well as homeowners, however landlords will be required to make a contribution to cover a third of the costs.
YES Energy Solutions are currently acting as customer journey support partners for the Midlands Energy Hub, assisting Lincolnshire and Leicestershire councils with a number of services.
We have been involved with LAD from the start, helping North Lincolnshire council and Bromsgrove and Redditch Councils access funding in phase 1 of the scheme.
