The Green Homes Grant Voucher Scheme closed to new applications from householders on Wednesday 31 March 2021.
Vouchers up to a value of £5,000 were available to applicants in England to improve the energy efficiency of their home, with a further £5,000 offered to residents with low incomes or on certain benefits.
The Government set aside £2 million for the Green Homes Grant, in an attempt to improve the UK's housing stock whilst creating jobs in the slump after the coronavirus lockdown.
The vouchers available contributed towards primary measures such as:
Once a primary measure is fitted, the vouchers extended to secondary measures such as:
The vouchers covered two-thirds of the cost of the measure for the majority of householders, up to a limit of £5,000.
This means there was no need to be a contribution from the householder.
However there was more support available for those on lower incomes and benefits, with vouchers fully covering the cost of installs up to a value of £10,000.
With relatively little contribution required, residents were able to save hundreds of pounds in the long run by benefiting from a more energy efficient home.
This scheme is no longer available.
You could get a grant to cover or contribute towards the cost of your home efficiency improvements through the Government’s Energy Company Obligations (ECO) scheme instead.
YES Energy Solutions works directly with major energy companies and has contracts in place to draw down ECO funding for eligible customers. We can check to see if you qualify for any support.
Depending on your circumstances, your property and the energy saving measures you choose, we may find that we can access a grant to cover the majority of the cost of the work.
Get in touch to find out what ECO funding we currently have available.
